Alicia Hunsicker showing at Hampden Gallery, April 2008/02/12 11:29 Karma: 0
Visual artist, Alicia Hunsicker, who lives and maintains her studio in Western Massachusetts, presents a new body of oil paintings in an exhibition entitled “Between The Darkness and The Light” at Hampden Gallery at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Hunsicker’s work is self-reflective. Through her choice of subject matter, she explores the dualities of existence, particularly the integration between the shadow and light. In this new work, she considers the concept of pendulum, and the relationship of being and perceiving (the veils of perception).

Hunsicker, known for her rich palette and highly-detailed, symbolic and figurative paintings, currently has work at Gallery in the Woods, Brattleboro, VT. Over the past decade, she has actively shown her work throughout the New England and more recently in Berlin, Germany, and Cameroon, West Africa. To find out more about the artist and her work visit www.aliciahunsicker.oph3lia.com.

For gallery hours, parking and directions visit www.umass.edu/fac/hampden or call 413.545.0680.

Hunsicker's solo show “Between The Darkness and The Light” will open at Hampden Gallery, University of Massachusetts, Amherst on Friday, April 4th from 6 to 8 p.m. and will run through Apri, 29. The event is free and open the public.
